Already have one. I just haven't put it on the car yet. I'm waiting for the chip and others. Otherwise I don't see a point at looking at the stock boost. But thanx anyway
The point is knowing if theres something wrong before you blow loads of money trying to upgrade. Its also not bad to know how the system acts under stock conditions so you have a good idea of what to look for when you start changing things.

After the chip and DV, you want to start working on exhuast and intake. Personally, I wouldnt bother with any intake without an upgraded turbo inlet pipe, thats where most of the power is lost on the intake side anyways.

Heres the complete breakdown: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2901711

Thanx Denim.

I was just checking ebay for, well, whatever I could find for MODs and I came across this... anyone ever have any encounters with something like it?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AUDI-...QQcmdZViewItem

Is it the same as the $500 chip?
Because it doesn't have a "Buy it now" price, but all the other auctions of the same thing have a "buy it now" of $15.
I thought I'd see what everyone's feedback on this was before I even concidered writing to the seller.

Thank you

D

wow, um no, that is far from a chip. A "chip" is a tune that increases your psi and timing. Look up Revo, APR, Giac those are what you are looking for.

[sm=badidea.gif] That is just one of the many useless gizmos for improving gas mileage using magnets, vortex generators, crystals, etc. Pretty much all that will do is lighten your wallet by $15. So I guess you would see an improvement in mileage due to weight reduction provided that piece of junk weighs less than a few sheets of paper.

That is very much NOT A CHIP. Don't waste your money on it, likewise if you come across a 'chip' that works in pretty much any car ever made, and sells for $35. I think they call it the 'juice box' or something...

APR, GIAC, Revo... stick with those names. They're all gonna be about $500, each one acts a little differently, but all put out about the same Hp.

Thanx for the info. $15 for up to 35WHP seems a bit too good for reallity and a bit too good for my walet.

~another newbie question with brands~

Maxspeed and Eurosport garage DVs?
Anyone know anything about those companies?
the Maxspeed is more realistic to the other prices I've seen around for DVs, but the Eurosport is only $60 ($85 with shipping)

Sorry for all the [stupid] questions. I just figured I'd ask people that have MODs done what they've heard of the brands.....
Thanx again guys.

[sm=WTFsgign.gif]are you serious with this question??? do you think that something that costs 15 dollars shipped to you is anything compared to a chip for 500?? like apr,giac,revo,dahlback.....always rememberYOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!!!

one thing that ive learned about these cars is that the more expensive stuff is more expensive for a reason, i haven't tested everything, but if you do your research you will learn as well.

this is what you'll want to look at, if you want the best quality for your buck:

chip: APR, GIAC, REVO

dv: Forge, Hyperboost, Bailey

intake: modshack VTDA or TTDA(modshack.info), Neuspeed P-Flow(if you want sound, I have this but I will eventually get a VTDA), BMC Carbon Dynamics

exhaust: APR, Borla, Neuspeed, Forge/Blueflame, Milltek, 42 Draft Designs(downpipe)

suspension: Bilstein, KW, Eibach, Koni, Neuspeed

turbo/intercooler piping: APR, Forge, Samco

here are some websites to get you started: modshack.info, ecstuning.com, ttstuff.com, awe-tuning.com, greedspeed.com, stratmosphere.com, tcarbon.com, atpturbo.com, ecodetuning.com, loomknitting.com/auditt

Calm down butterz! Damn.

I didn't say "Is it one of the usually $500 chips" I asked if it's simular... sorry if I miscommunicated what I meant. I just thought I'd get peoples opinions on it here first. sorry for the confusion.

I'm new to aftermarket parts for german cars. I had a Japanese car before the TT so parts are a bit different. That's why I joined this forum... To learn about what TO do and what NOT to do. So I guess I'm sorry for asking a dumb question.... when I honestly didn't know the first thing about MODs for these cars when I bought it.
