Default intake

as of right now my car has a "custom intake" i guess you could say.... the guy that had it before me just put a piece of pipe on the maf sensorthen had it bent and tucked down w/ a filter on the end (kinda like a CAI). I have seen a few guy on herethat have a filterright on the sensorwould that be better than the intake i got. and if so what will i need to do it? what size filter?

WHat you have gives the air more time to straiten out before going into the maf. I wouldnt waste the time to change it unless you dont like the look of it.

Why spend money on things that dont add hp? If you are going to spend $200 on a intake, might as well get something that performs.

well if i was to change it to just a filter on the sensor what all will i need i seen somewhere in another post that you had to cover one vac. line or something w/ a mic. cover to filter the air but other than that is it as simple as removing my pipe and just clamping the filter onto my maf sensor....and covering that hose end

If you already are running without a airbox, im sure the secondary air pumps line already has a filter/cover on it. Not sure why you want to change but all you should need to do is take out the pipe and install the filter on the maf.

I did pretty much exactly what you're talking about, Blue. Took the lid off and put a big cone right on the end, and put a smaller one on the small hose. Then I got some angle aluminum from home depot to brace it. Works nice, opened the sound up nicely, seems to help gas mileage too.
