Key issue Audi TT 2002
Hi:
Some time ago lost a key to our TT. Got a local locksmith to cut a key and program the chip. Worked fine for about a year. Went to start the car up just to run it a bit and it started and then immediately shut down. Flashing icon of the car and key. Started fine with the other key.
Why should the programmed key stop working after only about a year?
What should I do now. Nearest dealer is ~ 2 hours away and obviously, is expensive.
