I have a 2002 A6. My wife left her key in her pants pocket and then proceeded to do the laundry. The result was a dead key fob, I can use the key to manually open the door and start the car but I can't use the buttons to lock or unlock the doors. I do have one working key but I would like to replace it.

1. Is there a way to fix the old key?
2. If not, can anyone recommend someplace to purchase a new key?
3. Can I program the key myself? If not will anyone other than an Audi dealer be able to program it?
4. Lastly my existing working key shell is in rough shape is it possible to purchase only the shell and transplant my guts to a the new shell?
