Default MAF problem or something else

Hey guys, i have an 01 180 tt with REVO. Recently, I've experienced a loss in power and, from what I've read on this forum, im thinking it could be the MAF. I got the code P1128-Long Term Fuel Trim mult.,Bank 1 System too Lean. My check engine light is on and if I ignore it for a while, a couple of days, it will turn off and my car will once again feel fast, untill the CEL comes back within a couple of hours. Ive tried just clearing the code, but then my car is still slow and then the light will come on again. Im going to try cleaning the MAF today, but since my car is switching back and forth from slow to fast, I think it could be something else causing the problem, but I don't know what. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

it sounds like the maf. Unplug it and see if it runs better. If so, the maf needs changed

What kind of bit do you have to use to take the MAF off I bought this set on Ebay and none of them worked?

you can use locking pliers to grab them and pull while turning.

also be sure to check the cloth braided vac. line that goes to your fuel pressure regulator before you spend any money

Well I cleaned my MAF and my car felt a whole lot better. My idle s still a little shaky, but not as much as before. Fort myers, I bought a set 6-star securty torxbits at autozone and used one labeled t-20, but you have to make sure they are "security" torx wth the holes in the middle. Thanks for your help guys.
