Default this may be a noob question

I noticed when people get big turbo upgrades they also look into getting new brakes, like stage 2,3 etc...

why?

slowing from 60mph in a regular turbo is the same 60mph in a big turbo.

get what im saying?

You get to speed faster and chances are you will need to slow down faster as a result of that. Plus when you have speed, you tend to use it

I do. Its just a good idea to have capable brakes with power. Dont think you would buy a GT3 with stock MKIV brakes

Cincy is right... it's not the zero to 60 part that is the problem... it's the higher speeds attainable in shorter distance with a BT that matters. I track mine extensively and even with the stock turbo my speeds have increased over time and I shortly exceeded the capabilities of the stock brakes and suspension....

With more GO you need a lot more Woah!

You are correct, my lap times dropped significantly. Also the pucker factor caused by coming into a corner at 100+ and not feeling your brakes fade is gone.

For my setup the two piece rotors wouldn't make much difference. I switched to using Hawk HT-10 pads at the track and all of the fade that I had experience with the HPS+ pads was gone. So I don't feel there is any appreciable gain from the two-piece rotors that make it worth the extra $1000.

Thats the reason i got wilwoods. They are the only bbk that didnt cost about $2k. Sure they arent the biggest, but im not going above 17" wheel so i couldnt run them anyways.

I need to see if i can get into Mid-Ohio once, that would be fun as hell.

Guys even in 0-60 i think it makes a difference to have bigger breaks. cincyTT was right since when you accelerate faster this mean you have more impulse which means you need better and stronger breaks to break as you used to before
