mbc is in
I had assumed that part of a chip's function was to raise the boost level to the low 20's already, without a controller. It sounds like you are saying the MBC just smoothes or refines the adjustment, instead of actually making the adjustment.
Just to make it clear, you guys aren't just adding a MBC and turning it up, because that would bring on the limp mode that occurs just slightly over 14psi, correct?

I see. So does a chipped car come into boost more aggressively, or rougher, than a stock car? I've always liked the sudden hit of boost; I only feel it when driving aggressively and anything other than that would feel like a small supercharger and thus be a somewhatuneventful driving experience to me.
spiking 11psi is one thing, spiking 20psi at just over 2k is another. The power is more on and off than it was before. The mbc helps smooth out the boost onset and makes driving the car far more enjoyable.

If you don't have a chip... get one! Best overall mod you can do besides the Boost controller

BTW, on my 01 TT225 it didn't hit limp until about 28psi

28psi? Man, didnt think the block would hold a ko4 at that much boost. Guess the efficiency drop off help a little.
