Default My TT is gone, and before I go one word about the CLUSTER SETTLEMENT REPLACEMENT ISS

ladies and gentlemen
yes, my TT is now gone and i miss her much... however, i have moved on into an A4 and things are good. one last thing i forgot to tell you all regarding the cluster settlement issue:

for those out of the "extended warranty lawsuit coverage area"- let me say this:

my cluster had the same problems that a lot of you experience (missing pixels, bad gas and temp gauges, "miles to empty" all wonky) and when the whole lawsuit thing came up i put in my paperwork like all the rest and hoped for the best.

well it turned out that my car being an 01 was "out" of the covered cars, and i was SOL. anyway, being the persistent PITA that i am sometimes with stuff like this, i called Audi of America and opened a case. i then called week after week after week and b1tched and moaned about it and complained, asked for supervisors to review my case, etc. etc.

well apparently sometimes persistence pays off and the squeaky wheel DOES get the oil. after repeated calls and complaints about it Audi of America decided to meet me halfway. the deal was that i would get the cluster for free if i paid for the labor. i said okay and the cluster was shipped to my local dealer. they basically said i would need to pay around 300 for them to install it. getting the free part was a win to me, considering how expensive replacing this can be.

so the long story short is that my car got totalled so i never even made it into the dealership to get it installed. that part has been sitting on the shelf there for months now.

anyway, my advise to all of you with the cluster problem that are out-of-the-BS-warranty period is to start calling them and open up cases. and complain and call and call again until you get the same deal i got at least.

i kinda forgot to tell you all this for a while, but i was reminded again last week when i went to test drive a B5 S4 and the central cluster was so bad it looked like the heiroglyphics on the screens in the matrix! haha

luckily my A4 is A-OK with no problems

best of luck to you all my fellow old TT friends....
