Default Radio Noise

This is my first post - I bought my 2000 180 FWD TT in May and really love it! My question is - the radio (concert 175w) has started making a popping/crackling noise when I start the car or when I push the on/off button. Any ideas? Thank's for the help. Steve

sell your TT and buy a 225 quattro - that should fix it.

I haven't heard of this one. Most TT's came with a different radio then yours. Most have the bose stereo upgrade ($2000 option, eww).

Your system may just need a new headunit. Try car-parts.com for a stock used one. Make sure you get the same one you have now and not the bose. I know for sure the bose has an amp in the rearseat area, were I don't think your radio does.

I think it would be easier just to replace it with an aftermarket unit.

I used OEM headunit would be really cheep and easy though. I bet you could find one less then $60 used.
