I tried the spray on tint on my front rings and it did not look right. I'm not sure if it was because the can was getting low but it would leave noticeable spots when spraying.

Yeah, you need to start with a fresh can. Also, you need to do MANY coats to cover all the bubbles(considering you prepped well). I would also suggest you wet sand the rings utill all the high and low spots are even. And if I were you, I would hit it with a couple coats of clear & and bake them under a good lamp. The shifter ring that I painted took me about 3hrs to wet sand properly. However, the time spent wet sanding will insure that I end up with what Im after: a piano black finish

The spots are from not cleaning it well. Oil from your hands(our natural human oil! ;-)) or something. Never clean with degreeser.
Best cleaner is PPG 330.

don't F up your aluminum bezels, try this with scrap aluminum first, but its not THAT hard to anodize at home. So, another potential option over swapping to the A3 bezels. Upside, you can do any color you want, and its durable. (They're anodized in stock form)
http://www.bryanpryor.com/Anodizing.php (example of site, theres a ton out there)
BTW, your cheap/easily obtained power source would be a battery charger.

I want to get rid of the big bezels with the gay *** dimples. This is gonna be easier than anodizing anything. I'm swapping the entire vent assembly, so I'm not worried about F ing up the alluminum at all. I just pull them, box em up, and ship em the only work will be making sure they fit the way they should. I might have to shave a little plastic, but it should be pretty easy. Hopefully I should have them in by the beginning of next week.

vents are in! Took 5 hours of cutting and trimming. I think it turned out much better than I had imagined. Looks WAY better than stock! I think it looks alot like it should have been born there. I will get pictures up tomorrow.
