Default Oil question

I have a 2002 225hp roadster that seems to be eating a lot of oil. the dealer is telling me that it is normal. I have gone through 3 qts in about 4 months. I have driven about 6k miles in rather warm weather. I do drive it pretty hard. I have only done the APR chip to it.

Yep, the dealer would say that 1 Quart (~1 litre for us here in OZ) is acceptable. Motoring writers often mention that the 1.8 Litre has a reputation for oil usage however our TT doesn't use a drop between changes.

How many miles are on your car? Any smoking out the back? If higher mileage and not smoking (and especially since driven hard) I would check out the turbocharger for oil leaking past the center housing seals. 3 quarts in 6k miles or average of 1.5 quarts between 3k mile oil changes is definitely something to look into. Also, if it does not smoke during normal driving, let it idle for a few minutes and then take off somewhat quickly and watch for blue smoke out the tailpipe (sign of worn valve seals).
