The injectors are kind of loud and so are the valves, just make sure thats not what your hearing before you do anything drastic.

I agree with cincyTT.

Putting cheap gas in your ride can result in a *pinging* noise.

You also get crap for preformance.....

Also, if you think about it it's really only $3-4 more a tank to get power under your pedal.
OK, I will never never never put anything but super premium in my TT. Thank you - I just wanted to know if that sticker was a suggestion or a warning.

Funny - everyone knows that even a 25 cent change in the price of gas amounts to about - well, about a latte to fill a typical tank - but somehow it feels so good to be able to say "Really? I got gas just down the road from there for 12 cents less than you!"

Good move NanceLee,

Treat your audi well and it will love you back for years to come.

I also am a gas shopper wh*re.

Arco in cali is usally the cheapest.

ok now I know why my engine sounds like a diesel one(knocks every time it blows something inside a cylinder) ...and when it idles that is 800KNOCKS per MINUTE not 800RPMs right? Previous owner didn't care about the car.... prob only used 87gasmixed withwater to make it more and kill the engine[:@]

now seriously... what canI do now to fix that?... my dad sad it's weird, the AUDI MECHANIC said the injectors are under so much pressure theySHOULD be that loud (he never listened to my "diesel" engine...)

please don't tell me i have to get a new engine...thanks
You've got a very new TT.

I'd start by having them completly empty your fuel tank,

Then flush the fuel injectors and maybe some seafoam action.

Then i'd run like 3-4 tanks of 91 or better octane gas.

If that doesn't fix the sound, try a fuel addtive for a tank.

Hopefully cincyTT is wrong and it's not someting else causing the noises.

If it is....well i'm stumped.

Any good german car shop can flush the injectors for you.

I don't know how to do it, but have had it done.

Not something super specific that need to be done by an audi dealership.

And yah, search the forums for fuel additives / cleaners.

I think that's a good path to take seeing as your scared that the dip sh*t who owned your sweet TT before you added water to the gas. (Like Mexico!)

Plus fuel cleaners are really cheap for what they do.

Changing the fuel filter and getting some injector cleaner is a good, cheap place to start.
And umm I've never once heard my injectors or valves knock... Knock = causing damage if you ask me. JMHO.

Valve noise is normal in most german and proformance cars, I wouldn't stress to much. - Mine has it a lil bit...but its only when I'm parked next to a wall or in my garage I can hear it...its quite faint... So I wouldn't stress.

Best of luck!

Note - ALL of my BMW's have had LOUD engines....I'm assuming its normal for German cars
