For those of you within an hour or two or three, this Sunday is opening day at Watkins Glen. Charity event, "3 parade laps" with a pace car and 19 of your best friends you've never met. Best $20 you can spend. The parade laps are fairly spirited but not full on racing. I'm hitting the track about 10:30 am before too many folks show up, lunch at the Roosterfish Brewpub in the village of Watkins Glen afterward. If you decide to drive in, be aware, the state patrol knows that a lot of high performance vehicles are on their way in and a radar detector likely won't do you much good. Worth the drive if you have the time.
