OPINION NEEDED
I have an 05 TT. A yellow malfunction indicator light went on for 2 days last weekend. Then it cleared. I brought the car into the dealer. They removed and replaced #1 & #3 cylinder ignition coils. In the statement it states....GFF/guided functions-from model year 2004. It states that #1 & #3 were misfiring.
The car was made in Nov of 04. I purchased it in Aug of 05 brand new. Isn't it too soon to have such problems with a 2 year old car???? Thanks for your help. By the way I wasn't charged. I have 23K.

How many miles? The coils in these engines are notorius for failing prematurely due to heat. I keep a couple spares on hand just for that reason. It is a very easy DIY repair.
I bought my 03' last summer with 25k miles on it...
Now it has 32k on it because I drove it from California and put a bunch of miles on it once I got it to Ohio. I'm hoping to keep the miles on it to less than 2k a year.
