opinion needed!
Well, I have a bad front upper? control arm and it's been bad for about six months (driven on for maybe 3). I want to get the control arm replaced up at school because it's a hell of a lot cheaper by this guy who owns his own shop. He installed my shocks and springs for $600 cheaper than a local shop around here was gonna do it for, so I know he'll give me a deal on this.
My question is, if only one control arm is bad, how safe is it for me to continue to drive, with it needing replacement? I'm going up to school in September, should I be okay until then??
thanks

Typicaly its the bushings that wear out prematurely and cause metal to metal contact which generates the notorious clunking noise on bumps and turns. The metal joints will wear away on each other and eventually break because of the stress that is being put on that particular spot/joint. After 6 months, i dont think anything is gunna break soon, but obviously get it taken care of asap cuz you never know and if one breaks at highway speeds that could be dangerous. Kinda like driving on a bad cv joint.
I'm not sure about your question. sorry but how much did it cost you to get your suspension put on? I have a set of shocks and springs sitting in my garage and was wondering how much I need in order to finally get my car lowered. thanks

**so i guess it was about $400 cheaper, my bad.

I can only hear it with the windows down. I thought it might be normal since both sides of the car do it. There's no play in the steering wheel and I've gotten out and pushed down on the corners repeatedly while parked to see if I hear it but nada. Is this sound normal? Thanks.
Bilstien shocks w/ H&R springs...guy had my car for a day to install (don't know the exact hours he worked on it...maybe 3-4hrs?). It lowered it about 1.25" in front, and 1" in back.
