I just bought a 98 A4 2.8 quattro SP
anyway, the car makes a rattling noise in first gear and when the gear is changed the sound is gone
the mechanic said its a loose bearing inside the tranny
My dad says lets wait until I needa clutch and then we could the tranny work
but i dont know, what should i dO? can i still run the car hard with that problem? cuz the mechanic said its only a minor .what do you guys think?

 

I think your probably good man, the 2.8 isnt really a powerhouse so its not stressing the tranny that much, Im with your dad man why take the tranny out twice when you could just do it once
