P1113 Bank 1 Sensor 1 Internal Resistance Too Large Sporadic. Anyone know anything about this code or how to research it? I went to VWVortex and searched the Vag Com forum but came up with only one thread. All the thread said was he searched the Ross Tech site and found nothing.

heated O2 sensor 1, bank 1 - heater resistance too high possible causes are O2 sensor or wiring

I need to take the front of my car off again to work on the headlights. Is it the sensor that is right next to the SMIC (180QC so I only have it on the passenger side)? Would you suggest just replacing the sensor? Or should I have a mechanic try to determine if it is the wiring?

just have a look if the wiring is burned but personally I would go for a new sensor, bank 1 sensor 1 is at the top of the exhaust and bank 1 sensor 2 is next to the cat

If my car was running rich (which I was told by the mechanic at VW it was) could that be whats affecting the Bank 1 Sensor 1. I am bringing my car to Velocity Factor today to get looked at and reflashed.

hmm running rich could be the coolant temp sensor ( basically its an electronic choke ) and on cold start it enriches the fuel/air so if it were giving the wrong readings its like running with the choke on hence running rich which would throw that code and the O2 sensor is doing its job

Since this problem has occured my temp needle has gone from sitting dead centerto running alittle hotter. Dont know if this is relevant but in the Self Diagnosis protocol report states my PID 05 Coolant Temp 99 degrees C. One of the mechanics along this trouble shooting process put in a green top and it didn't help the problem.

then it could be a stuck thermostat and the readings will be all over the place and the CTS is doing its job
