Default O2 Sensor - P1113

I recently got a CEL (P1113 = Bank1-Sensor1 Internal Resistance too High) on my stock 01 S4. I searched the forums and found that it may be…

"Sounds like an open circuit. Check for loose and dirty connections to O2 sensor. .."
and that
“o2's are on the exhaust system get underneath the car…”

I would like to replace my O2 sensor(s). If there are four O2 sensors, how do I find the problematic one or do I need to replace all four? Where do you g[/b]uys buy O2 sensors from? I found this http://www.car-stuff.com/mmparts/aud...en_sensor.html. Are their prices reasonable (~$50)?

P.S. I am new to this forum, but I have noticed that everybody is extremely cooperative. Thanks in advance!

your b1s1 is bad. That is passenger side front. Do not get them off that site. Also the one you posted you will need to solder in. Go to http://vastperformance.com/shop/prod...products_id=69
you are better off getting 2 at a time cause they go in pairs and if your in there do both.

Thanks 2000Sforce.dtwaudi.

Is it normal for a CEL (P1113) to disappear for a day and then appear again? Because it happened to me. Is this sign of loose connection somewhere?

Yea, they do that, the sensor is failing, so you will need to replace it.

not a loose connection you would be getting an open code. Your O2 is just on the fritz. Get both b1s1 and b2s1 and call it a day.

Sorry to revive a 3month old thread, but.... I'm seeing the same thing as the original poster. My 2001.5 S4 had the CEL come on while I was driving home from work the other night then before I could make to autozone to pull the code the light cleared, when I got to autozone I found P1113 and P1131 stored, I erased them and drove to work, then on the way home again the CEL came on, I'm guessing its the same pair of codes. I went and measured the resistance as described here: Diagnosing Oxygen Sensor Heater Codes but the passenger side is only at 8.3Ohm and the driver side is at 9.3Ohm, which sounds to be in spec. I've got a service contract that covers all of the electrical and powertrain so I'm not too worried (should I be?) Regardless, I'd like to have an idea of what I'm up against when I take it in.

Cheers,
-Ryan
