Default pardon my noobness but..

i did check the FAQ just to go ahead and clarify that i didnt come here spouting out totall noobness BUT::

how can i tell the difference of a 180 hp TT and a 225 hp?

from what i can tell if it has the 6 speed its the 225... 5 speed is 180.. is this 100 percent true or is there anything else i need to look for when it comes to dealers or people who dont know what they have?

On a 180 the manifold throttle body end is on the right side of the engine. On the 225 it is on the left. A 225 will also have a charge pipe that goes over the top of the engine on the right side.

180HP

225HP

225 and the 3.2 always have two exhaust outlets, 180 has one. and yes, 6spd is only in 225, 5 spd 180.

The exhaust method is less reliable. I have a 2000 180 Quattro with aftermarket dual exhaust. However, after 2001 the 180 was only available on a FWD and there are few options for a dual on a FWD due to the spare tire well.
