Default Peace of mind- timing belt done

My '01 225 just turned 60K. Now I can fully enjoy my ride without the dark cloud of "what ifor when" hanging over my head. I knew I'd need it when I bought the car 2 months ago with 56K thanks to this forum.
I bought the dieselgeek.com kit and had my buddy (owns his own shop) do the work yesterday. Just for information, the entire job cost me $635 ($260 kit and $375 labor). Dealerships wanted $880 and $1050 for just the belt and tensioner.

So, if anyone's holding off with crossed fingers, it can be done for a decent price. If you've got the tools, skill and time a DIY is even better.

Just my thoughts, thought I'd pass them along

i'm in the same boat, bought the car two months ago. 55K miles. and just dreading any problems. I ordered the kit, and I wonder should i just do it now, or wait until 60K?

I'd say why wait, get it done and breath easier for another 60K.
