Power Steering Making Whining Sound
I have a '05 3.2 TT Roadster that I just bought back in December. Love the car. I have noticed that the power steering unit whines now and then, mostly when its cold. Is this normal? Where can I check the power steering fluid?

Not sure if the 3.2 is located on he same location as a 1.8 but it should be a green cap with a steering wheel on it. There is a dip stick on the underside of the cap. Make sure the fluid isn't dirty while you are in there also.

Thanks for the responses. The power steering fluid on the 3.2 is located under the black plastic panel in front of the radiator reservoir. The local dealer was kind enough to show me where it is. Checked OK, guess I'm just a little paranoid of noises.

My a4 has the same issue. There is a one way valve the keeps pressure to the the pump. Mine needs replacing and should fix my problem. There is one on the TT also. Join vagcat.com and go to this link, number 14 might be what you need if it continues.
