+1 on the tap and die.

+2 on the not removing the brake line. You'll cause yourself more grief removing that and needing to bleed the brakes than if you just left it in place.

BTW, note to anyone who didn't know... Don't let your calipers hang by the brake line. Stresses the line - no good. Hang the caliper with a piece of wire/twine or something.

I must confess, I often just find places to wedge it as well.

thanks it was my BAD Imagination IT went in today it was just too dark and couldnt see. AND You are right no need to take the line out. Now the brake hose the one that connects to the caliper is leaking. not from the screw but from one of the sealed joints. dont know how to explain it better. where can i find the caliper hose? anyone?

Stainless braided lines would be a good upgrade. Cant just use any though, Audi uses a diff thread, so its gotta be Make specific. It also wouldn't hurt to flush the brake fluid fully.

ATE Super Blue is a good fluid, and their Gold stuff is as well, and compatible with each other. Whats nice is that since they're different colors, you'll know when the system is completely flushed if you alternate between the two.
Wilwood also makes good brake fluid, and a bit cheaper than the ATE stuff, although I don't know what the situation is with compatibility with ATE, if you were to flush between the brands.

Standard brake line would probably be a dealer part, ECS only sells stainless kits, $125 for all the stainless lines you'd need, and you'd still need fluid.
