Default Replacing my alternator

Doing it myself, bright and early tomorrow with a friend who's a lot more mechanically inclined than myself. Wish me luck! Apparently I also have a "rodent nest" in my pollen filter. I guess I'll try to take care of that too. I guess that's the big black box thing to the right of my engine, but I honestly have no clue. Lol. Guess I'll find out though. Any words of advice for the alternator or the pollen filter?

good thing you have a friend i guess. Just take your time and if you need a howto there should be one on vwvortex if you search there (mkiv forum should have one).

I used that write up to get mine done. Took about an hour and 45 minutes to do. It wasn't that difficult. Granted my friend did most of the work for me, but all in all, I'm glad I did it instead of paying the dealership.
