Roadster Top Repair
Ref 2001 TT Roadster, 115k
Like many others, my glass rear window fell out. Top was still in great shape so I opted to have a convertible top company put a plastic window in. Works great. Looks good...of course no electric defrost which sucks!!
Issue I have is a leaky back end, but not thru or around the window itself. Seems there is a flap that extends from the cloth/rag top that just hangs loose. The ONLY seal for water/rain is the top pressing against the rubber seal. In the "standard" assembly, should that plastic piece somehow be glued to the hard plastic liner at the top of the well behind the seats and, thus, water that comes past the rubber seal is then moved "out" somehow? Has anyone replaced a top and /or can anyone help me on this? Any pictures of how the top seals off in the back? Thx.

I don't have an answer on the flap issue, but you need to get the leak fixed soon. I had a stopped up drain hole in the convertible top storage area, and water sloshed onto the Comfort Control Module and shorted it out. A grand later I had my car back with a/c and fans etc working again.
