Running too rich maf
Ok my car started to stall, i got a check engine light on P1127 is the code bad MAF, vacuum leak. now where do i look for vacuum leaks and how to spot them. and i dont understand what running too rich exactly means. sorry not very good when it comes to cars.. :P and also i have a rough start my rps are all over the place when i first start the car i even have to give it gas because i seems like its gonna shut off.... any ideas THANKS GUYS
Running rich means that the Fuel/Air ratio is higher than is needed. TTs run a little rich anyway (note black soot on tailpipe) but too rich will foul plugs, waste gas, and generally make the car run poorly.
First off, try unplugging the MAF and see if it runs better. If it does then the MAF is dirty or needs to be replaced.
Vacuum leaks are a bit trickier to locate, your best bet is to do a pressure test and a little soap/water to look for bubbles. You can buy a test fitting and gauge from Modshack.info or you can make one yourself with some PVC fittings and a gauge.
Inspect all of your vacuum lines. One that often fails is an S-shaped one that connects on the underside of the intake manifold to the PVC valve.
