It's a minor irritance but, the brushed aluminum ring that is immediately under my shifter **** is not connected to the ****. It clicks when the boot expands and contracts when shifting. Should it be connected to the **** base, if so how ? It was this way when I bought the car, now it just bugs me. I can't see any form of clip or anything, thought maybe I'd silicone it but not sure it would hold up.

 

mine is the same so i just screwed it in as far as it will go and its not swinging around anymore but still not connected
