Slow throttle response under 3000 RPM
My 04 TT (225 Quattro-6 speed) seems to have slow throttle response until it reaches 3200 RPM and then it is really strong up to 5500 RPM since I installed a 42DD 3" downpipe and high flow CAT( stock exhaust CAt-back). It has not been setting any codes
Last summer I had Unitronic software and a Bailey DV installed.IT ran much stronger than stock and did not seem to have this slow throttle response .
Until i get this resolved i am hesitant to install the cat-back exhaust.
Any Suggestions? Wouls a cold air intake help?
I look forward to your suggestions?
Have a great day

well let me tell you what, it happened to me after i installed my 3'' turbo back exhaust with a test pipe. I felt like i lost the kick/back preasure that i had before i touched the car(stock) so changed my test pipe to a highflow cat and it has better response but its definately not like stock, but the midrange power to top end takes care of all my worries, so in theory it may seem to respond slower taking off but its not actualy slower you are just not used to the change yet.
Just musing here, but my impression that it is a trade off for a small loss in power before the rpm range where boost is sustained. also, i would expect that, like getting chipped, there would be a period of ecu adaptation before gains are fully reached. just guesses though...
it's a given.
in exchange for mid/high-range power, you sacrifice the low end. that's what happens when you open her up via downpipe -> back when backpressure is lost.
stick the stock dp/cat back in. you'll get a better throttle response earlier on... but that's about it =)
