Default Soaking Carpets

I have a 2004 TT Cab and since January the car has been back to the garage 4 times as both the drivers and passengers floor mats are soaking wet and are now rotting. Has anyone had this before and how did they get it fixed as the garage cant seem to sort it out. They have replaced the rubber seals at the top of the windows but the carpets just gets worse whenever it rains.

I have had similar situations in other cars. The drains from the windshield area may be clogged. Also, look in your spare wheel well and see if you have water there. It might be coming in at the back and running under the body to the front. Just a thought. There have ben other posts addressing this here as I remember. Try a search. Good luck, it smells terrible I know.

vw's are also known for water pumps doing this, perhaps some crossover technology?

Thanks for this. They have looked at all the drianage pipes, seals, etc but still cant figure it out. To be honest, i have totally lost confidence in the garage. Annoying as it is a fantastic car.

The spare wheel well is a good shout as i remember taking it out about 2 months ago and it did have some water on it. Also when opening the boot, its covered in condensation.

One of the seals in my hatch used leak, it dripped on my rear seats until it made a puddle when I got my car washed.

This is a long shot but there is a little body plug under the passenger's side footwell, if it's missing it might be letting water in.
