Default strange idle

im idleing very strangely... when i start the car the rpm's instead of going to 1200 (cold start)... they jump around between 600 and 1000... literally bounce around as well as the vacumn as it just moves along with it... after a little bit it settles down around 800 but then after a little hard driving it does the same thing with no throttle (foot off pedal)

could it be a bad throttle pos. sensor, or maybe one of the many things i did... like my custom FMIC, or removal of the SAI, combo valve, hardlines, n249 and so forth... im getting no check engine light except every now and then i get one for the catless exhaust but i just erase it

Sounds like a vac leak to me. Although what you describe is the way my engine behaves when my DV's out of the intake hose...goes erratic idling then stalls.

it dont stall tho... but when i put on a APR R1 diverter valve it did... but then i went back to the stock one and it worked just fine... but then i changed a few things up with my FMIC, like putting the map sensor on a vacumn line off the manifold... i thought that could be the problem but i dont know

not a single code... at least no CEL... could vag-com show codes that arent showing up as CEL's??? i havent checked it with vag-comyet...
the throttle has this "touchy response" that kinda makes the car nosedive when im off throttle and really kick it when i give it a little...

Yeah, Vag-Com it and let us know... I've had it throw code and not a CEL before. AutoZone will do it for free...

Could be any number of things, but it sounds Vac related. There's a ton of little hoses to split and if you're car is having that kinda reaction...chances are you split a couple. Sounds like my car when my coilpack was going out...but that threw a code. You might also try unplugging your MAF to see if that affects the idle/drive...if it gets better you have a bad MAF.

let us know...
