99 2.8 with strange idle speeds..help please
hey,
This morning when i was driving my car to school( 99 2.8 with 68k) i noticed that the idle speed was dropping to around 450-500 then going back up to around 6-650( which is what it is supposed to be at right?)It did this several times but only happend when i put my clutch in, while driving there was no reduction of power or anything. Again, on my way home from work tonight, it started to do it. Any ideas on what it could be/ how would i go about fixing? Any imput will be helpful.
Thanks in advance - Bip

Well you could start with a throttle body adjustment. All you have to do is turn the key to electrical power and let the car sit a few minutes. You'll hear some noises from underhood (pop the hood to hear it better). Let it sync itself up, and then see what happens. It may not do much for you, but it's an easy and free first step.
clean ur throttle body with throttle body cleaner. also clean ur MAF while ur at it. the throttle body cleaning helped me with the same problem. and don't wry bout the smoke that will come out after u clean it.
umm I might be wrong on this one a feel free to correct me but the auto climate control could be changing, assuming you have it on because of the cold weather. I never really had this problem, but my friend has a maxima that does it all the time.
Thanks for the replays. I baught some throttle body cleaner today, ill see what it does. I am also going to check some of the vacuums, im thinking maybe too much cold air might be getting in somewhere.
