Strut bushing replacement: Tips?
I finished replacing right/left strut bushings and bearings. I double-checked to ensure the coil springs sat correctly into theirbases and make sure the bushing sat correctly in the cup. Now, the right side sounds like it binds when turning sharply, at very slows speeds (parking etc, especially in reverse). Sounds like the coil is making a dungggg, dungggsound a few times.
Any tips, things I can look for? Had it apart three times now, still the same. The left side, no problems at all.

There is a secret way of doing those strut mount bushings if you wanna know, get a nut with the same thread as the nut that holds the strut to the tower but without the sleeve on it. Remove the old nut with the sleeve and install the one with out one, then jack up the car and the strut will fall out of the tower but will still be compressed, just take out the old bushing install the new one and lower the car back down and install the factory nut again. Takes about 5-10 each side instead of removing the whole strut and compressing the spring, Something i learned from the stealership, so you don't get raped by them. Also works on VW's
You should get an alignment any time you drop the control arms.
Might fix it, might not. I'm sure the alignment shop will tell you if something is wrong.
I'm in the process (slow process) of installing all new springs and shocks with a half kmac.
My car has been up on the lift for a week now waiting for parts.
I only plan to drive directly to the alignment shop as soon as all 4 wheels are back on.

you dont have to drop the control arm for the strut bearing replacement
but yes you are right about the alignment if you had to disconnect the control arm and dont align it right
