ORIGINAL: Jays TT

The subs im running are 800 rms 1600 watts peak. Each one will be getting 1500 watts rms each.with a 95dbsens 1w1m which isent bad. when I ran the big stuff they were around 88db at 1w1m. Well that's a good power rating for a speaker. I just can't stand the oh so popular and yet oh so poor quality Rockford HE2 (T2), Kicker anything, and The mother of all shitty subwoofers... anything and everything made by audiobahn. Audiobahn in particular... are geared toward an audience that does not fully understand car audio and measure the merit of sound in Watts. They Produce 12" subwoofers that sound like crap that can handle 5,000 Watts knowing damn well that you will then have to buy an audiobahn amplifier because you'll never find another brand with a 20,000 watt amp for under $3,000 to power them with. Thebig companies from the late 80's and 90's have almost all fallen off or been sold out to terriblemanagement that destroyed their good name. Few have survived and some esoteric companies out there are putting out somelow-key high quality stuff.

The amps im running are rated 3000watts but do a good 1500 rms actual power.
I'm very picky with my amplifiers and primarily stay with the big three (but then again, I'm more down with finesse and not brute force): Phoenix Gold, McIntosh, and Zapco (only high end Zapco though). I have designed applications for other people and unless they are really looking for an audiophile setup.. I also use US Amps and Soundstream.

Brute force is the way I like it Finesse Baby... I can still pull SPL on most... but my setup is geared toward SQ. Sound Processors, Fiber Optic connections, Utopia precision sound... to each his own, bt it sounds like you have a great thing going. That has GOT to be a huge trunk to get 3 15" subwoofers in a ported box in there.you're looking at damn near 3.5ft³ per subwoofer including driver displacement depending on the sub. more power to ya.

Man I wish I could afford zapco and Mcintosh. I use to run a MC440M and man what was a nice amp! Like you said very clean! Alot of the new highend Hifonics amps are pretty nice. They have come a long way!

I;ll post a pic of the current trunk now on the 69 olds .. Each sub has 2.5 cubes ported yes the trunk is friggen huge!
