Default Temp Sensor Issue

I am having an issue with the outside air temp sensor in my 2002 1.8 Quattro. The temp indicates higher than actual tempurature. It is a lot worse when little airflow such as in city traffic. Even on the freeway it still indicates a few degrees warmer than it really is. Lets say 5C warmer. In the city it has climbed up to 40C when it is only about 25C outsdie. The real issue is when it gets high like that and the AC is on, the car engine temp stated to climb. I turned off the AC and it went back to normal very quickly. Also sometimes the car engine temp runs too cold. I have to think the car has some kind of conection between the OAT and the AC and the engine temp. Does any one know the location of the outside air temp sensor? Ill change it first before I take the car to Audi.

The temp sensor is located under the front bumper cover... usually clamped to the bracket on the aluminum bumper.

How many miles on your car? Climbing temps can be a number of things. Bad Thermostat, bad temp sensor, waterpump, etc.

Does anyone have the Bentley pictures for the thermostat location. I have a new fan control module and I'm installing the TIP today. So I might take a look at it while I'm in there.

Thanks
