Default Thinking about buying a tt.

I'm thinking about buying a tt but just need to know some basic info about it like what things need to be replaced and at what miles. Also how many miles is to many miles for these cars.

I am in the same boat, have been looking for a couple weeks now. Depends if you are looking for automatic or manual and what size motor. The most popular are 2001-2002 TT's and they come in single exhaust 180 hp or dual exhaust 225 hp. Biggest issue is the timing belt and water pump , which should be replaced around 70,000 mi. Those motors are good up and over 200,000 mi with proper maint. and fluid change.

Personally I am looking for a 2002 TT Coupe 225. Not sure where you live but best thing to do is find a garage (not dealer) to take a look at a car before you purchase it (pre-purchase inspection) The reason i say not dealer is because it will easily run you over 100 an hr.
Anything else feel free to ask, I don't know everything as i am new myself to Audi but have been doing alot of reading up.

Just bought an 04 FWD coupe with 71K miles for my daughter. Based on records that came with it, both front and rear brakes seem to last around 40K miles. I changed the timing belt and water pump and they definitely needed to be replaced. I also changed the large cooling fan, which seems to be a fairly frequently replaced item. Left front wheel bearing is making noise and is next on the list to be replaced. The left drive shaft was replaced at 63K miles by the previous owner. If you're looking for an automatic, be sure to check for smooth operation. The valve body can be a weak link. All that said, the daughter loves the car...

I'm looking for a 2000-2002 TT Quattro 225. I'm in Nebraska so AWD is a must. I only have about 7k to purchase my car with I'm hoping on picking up one with around 130k in it for around 6k and having an extra thousand for a BOV and Milltek exhaust.
