Default Thinking about TT purchase

I have missed my 06 GTI so badly since I traded it in for a Camaro 2010 SS and now I'm thinking about getting a Audi TT used to drive so I can keep the mileage off my Camaro.

The Audi I'm looking at has 88,000 miles on it, 2003 model. I'm not familiar with the TT much but under the hood I saw a sticker that said Quattro, however the dealer didn't know it was a this so I didn't linger too long at the sticker. the engine has a 5v on it, does that mean its the 180 or the 225 hp engine? Everything seems in pretty good shape.

I didn't ask for service records, and not even sure if it has them. I can tell by just driving that the right rear bushing is gone and makes a loud pop when a bigger sized pothole is hit. Next would be getting the timing belt replaced just after buying the car incase it has never been replaced.

Any other suggestions on what to look for before pulling the trigger?

The dealer is asking 9,800 for the car and it is gorgeous.

Ok. Thanks for the info from what I am sure is an 19 yearold that just got their first tt. Enjoy it while you can afford to fix it. I'm sure you'll end up selling it within the next year...
Look at older threads, it happens all the time.

Now back on topic. $9800 is a good ASKING price. I would only pay that if they replaced the timing belt, water pump, tensioner and changed the halidex (awd) fluid and filter. The TT is not really a good car to "put miles on". Basic parts and service/maintance is expensive. IMO, for a car to put some miles on for cheap would be a 03+ MR2 spyder. AWD and turbo is asking for problems. The tt is fun and can be driven in the snow though.
