I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOING THIS!!! DONT TRUST AUDI WHEN THEY SAY YOU DONT HAVE TO CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID!!!
its fairly east if you hace acces to a lift or have very good jacks! you should see the magnetic drain plug for the gearbox . it was full of metal shavings!!! cleaned it out and changed fluid with REDLINE mt-90 good stuff! if anyone has any questions on how to do this just let me know and check out this link http://public.fotki.com/mcphill/audi...nsmission.html

I do probably 10 transmission services on a given day (automatic and manual) and you wouldn't beleive how many cars I see that have drain plugs full of metal shavings. Not to mention the fluid itself gets all messed up from heat. We always joke around that manufacturers that tell people that they don't have to change the transmission fluid ever only say that so that when the tranny craps out when the warranty is up, they make some more money. We recommend doing it every 15k miles to help prolong and maintain the life of your transmission.
Hello, i think i need to do a service to my 99 tiptronic, but i really dont have a clue of how to.. I do know that are two holes (one for draining and one for filling it up) and, i dont know how much fluid i should buy. I saw this one on ebay today:
Ebay Trans. Fuid
What do you guys think?
suggestion? Thank you very much

just a question, since you drained the fluid out of the bevel box, do you need to refill the bevel box seperatly, or does filling the transmission also fill the bevel box? thanks
MeanAudiA6, I just got my fluid in from Pure Motorsport. I just have one problem, my fill plug is not the same as yours, mine uses some kind of multi-point star bit thats pretty big. Do you have any idea where I could find a tool that fits this? I could not find it at advance auto. Thanks
