6spd transmisson help
I have a 3.0 Quattro 6spd manual.
When I bought this car 1st gear would not stay engauged. Now since I have been starting in 2nd gear that has gone too and will not even go into 2nd gear. I am wondering what is the best way to go on this. I have found a used transmisson from a car with 80k for $1400 from the wrecking yard and also one with 60k for $2100. I have talked to a couple transmisson shops and the labor is 9 hours which puts installing a used tranny at about 1000$ in labor. I have been told that depending on what parts I need to rebild my tranny they will most likely have to come from the dealership which will be very expensive obviously. I have also been told these transmissions last for up to 200k easy and my car has 93000 miles on it, so is it save to buy a used transmisson with 60 or 80k on it??? Or should I go with a rebuild? And ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated since I have only owned this car for about 3 weeks i lack experience with audi's.
