Question Trunk open sensor???

Hi all.

My trunk lights don't seem to work. (trunk open, lights on)
You know, the one near the warning sign (don't smash people's heads in) in the hatch,
and the one on the left side of the trunk, near where the Amp is?

I checked the bulbs and they are fine.
Fuses seem ok.

What is going on?

Update:
I found the culprit.
The car doesn't 'know' that the trunk is open.
Faulty microswitch? where is it located?
thanks
josh

Mines doesn't come on either. Unless I turn the hazard lights on.

Open trunk, then turn on hazard lights. They should come on.

^ nope, I tried that. It wouldn't make sense anyway.
Why would you need the courtesy lighting in the trunk ONLY when the hazards are on?
For those people with the same problem, when your trunk is open, does your HUD say 'trunk open'? I'm pretty sure it should.
That leads me to believe there is a microswitch in the lock that is stuck on 'closed'.
Yay, Nay?
Where is it?
