Default TT 225hp Engine Oil for the Track

Hey fellow TT'rs

Any recommendations for engine oil weights & type to use when running the 2002 1.8L HO 225hp engine on the track (i.e. high performance driving). Sessions tend to be aprox. 20 minutes in length and 4 a day. I plan to be flat out when I can.

Thanks!

same oil. You may want to move to a larger Passat/A4 oil filter which will hold more oil

Thanks Cincy. From what I've seen on the other oil weight threads in this forum I'll stick with Mobil 1 0w40 synthetic as the 502 spec from Audi. I was wondering about stepping up to a w50 for the track but haven't seen anyone try it. Besides, it doesn't look that weight is on the Audi approved list of oils anyway.

Makes sense to use a larger oil filter, but the one spec'd for the TT is a royal pita to get out. Will the larger A4 filter fit ok in the TT?
