TT and autocross
Hello, new to the forums here.
I currently drive a custom turbo 2000 Celica GT-S, i love the car but i'm tired of the understeer from the FWD.
I really want my next car to be AWD or RWD so my main choice right now is an used TT225. I'm new to autocross but i already love it and it's the main reason why i want a new car. Now the other day i saw a review that stated that the TT has a big tendency to understeer, Is this true? Can anyone tell me if the tt makes a competitive and fun autocross car or does it really understeer too much? thanks!

RE: TT and autocross
It does have a tendancy to understeer because the car is not a "true" all wheel drive car. Yes power is distributed to all four tires, but undernormal circumstances the majority of the power is to the front wheels. I think its something like a 70% front 30% rear usaully. Then when needed the Haldex transfers power to the rear tires. Now, I dont remember the cost I think around the $500.00 mark you can get an upgraded Haldex that makes it more of a 60/40 releationship and distributes power to the rear tires quicker than the stock. I dont do autocross but I do road race with the NASA organization, and I think that with any "all wheel drive" or front wheel drive vehicles you are going to get understeer, there is not a lot you can do about it. How much I guess is left to the tuner.

$900 for the upgraded haldex controller. Not cheap, but I bet tons of fun.
