two things (wastegate)
i'm still trying to locate a 3" downpipe for a 180tt quattro. anyone make them? and second question is about the wastegate. Basically i'm trying to figure out how to properly adjust it. I know that it opens up more as you start boosting, but lets say that i had it connected directly to the turbo cold side, no valve or mbc. It shows about .5 bar which seems about right. Now if i loosen the rod and open the gate more will that make the turbo spool up later? or earlier? i'm assuming that if i tighten it, it will be the inverse. I'm trying to get boost adjustment from my EBC but right now even the lowest setting is too high. i mean it floats around 1 bar on hte lowest boost setting. i want my lowest to be .5 to .7 bar and max to be 1.6 bar~22-23psi I got it to go down by loosening the wastegate up but i dont want to mess everything up with an improper adjustment. I'm really surprised that the boost controller wont get it down. I was thinking the giac software might have something to do with it.

The giac makes your ecu request 15/16 psi. Thats as low as it will go. If you go below requested you will get a CEL. I learned that one on my brothers car when he wanted to do the same thing. Stick with 15 and 22psi and you will be fine. If you loosen the wastegate you will hate life. There are people on wortex that tighten the wastegate to allow the ko3 to hold and makeboost longer but this will kill the turbo much quicker since it make it perform far out of its effincience range. Stick with what your ebc will do and you will be fine.
**oh and about the dp, no one makes one yet. 42dd may make one soon but i wouldnt hold my breath just yet. I would do either make friends with someone that can weld or bring the flanges to a muffler shop and have them make you one. Shouldnt be to expensive.

i settled for 12 psi and 22 at peak. it was the boost controller. the sensor doesnt read as accurate as it used to so it keeps everythig a little higher. had to adjust it internally and got it to work. i'll wait for the 42dd pipe as i have a 2.5" straight pipe right now. i really wated to put a cat back on and make it nature friendly(er) hope they make a 3" street version with a cat.

I will make a post with all the things i've used on the 180hp 1.8t when i get it all dialed in. most of the info is there already but its all piece together type from different engines/cars.
