Default U-turn tricks?

Whenever i try to do a hard U-turn, the awd system doesnt seem to enjoy it. Is there a trick that will help me do tighter U-turns or do i just have to take the long way round?

i usually line up to right of the road at about 40 mph, turn the wheel about a full turn to the left and pull the ebrake. works for me .

what do you mean the AWD doesn't like it?

If its lurching and feels like something is slipping/popping, you're probably binding something up. This can happen from having too much of a difference in rolling radius between tires. I know, currently I've got a relatively new tire on one rear, and a somewhat worn tire, which was half flat last week. Car bucked terribly in a very tight turn. Get that figure out, it should be smooth, and if you keep doing it you're going to cause trouble for yourself and your car.

anyone eles think its a good idea to signal your u-turn if your in traffic?... i ussuly put my hand out the window and do a circular motion w/ finger. I also like to signal if the person in front is turning and I feel the person behind me is saying " why the heck is that guy stopping for no reason?"... i guess im paronid but i really dont want to be rear-ended

I've never had to U turn in traffic. Only done it on open road, and never when there was a car around. Living away from cities has its upsides.

I like to get sideways during a u-turn. I imagine it would be much easier if I had a haldex blue. REALY easy on wet roads.

Yes, I love to do U-turns in the snow. It's totally sweet..I don't think my car can do it in the rain, tho...my car is stock and slowwww..

And to the OP..no, your car shouldn't be acting weird if you're doing a simple U-turn..unless you're doing something odd..or your Haldex is telling you something.

yea, my Blue and 19mm rear sway make the car a monster in the snow. I can get it loose, drift it on the stiffer rear swap, and control the speed/angle with the 4-wheel-power. I'm stoked its going to snow over 4in tonight, I get to go rallying one more time
