Default Vac Hose

When I was putting my new coil packs tonight i noticed a crack plastic hose from the vac booster to the intake manifold where it Y's, one into the intake and one goes between 3 and 4. From the booster it goes into a disk that lks like a filter after a foot. Does anyone know what this is and if it can just be replaced?

PG 8 top pic, What is this? Mine is broke off and where it plugs into the intake it has a bolt and the other two hoses are spliced together. Sorry for the questions, someone broke some of the stock stuff and rigged it, I am trying to get it up to snuff.
