Name that hose
What is this hose and what is it carrying?
(hopefully there is a picture here)
Just asking becuase I touched it and it basically started turning into dust. but it didnt leak I think...
Does it carry air? boost? Does it activate the DV? just wondering if it has anything to do with my recent power loss in addition to the TBB that I will be checking.
Thanks

RE: Name that hose
What did you replace them with?
Just some hose from the parts store or did you take it to the dealer? The hose doesn't look to special but I dont want to put something low pressure on something that might be a high pressure line.
Thanks

RE: Name that hose
The shorter one with fuel hose and frayed one a silcone/rubber one that the mech had handy
Speaking of the dealer, i tried to get the clamps for the 2 hoses coz i couldnt get them that small any ware else, and the give me these freakin clamps that are huge and dont fit the recess on the DV's. I showed them and siad that is the rite corresponding part #, then they order some new ones from parts head office just in case and 2 days latter there the same size clamps! D***s![sm=headbang.gif]

If i can decipher your picture correctly, it appears to be the vac. line to the DV's. dont worry about high/low pressure hose, just use vac. hose for air, heater hose for fluids, and fuel line for.....fuel, you guessed it. if you fasten it properly you will not have any failures.

RE: Name that hose
that hose will only see vacuum and as much presure as you run in boost, just replace with proper size hose with new clamps.
as for the diverter valves i have used some old turbonetics blue silicone hose, not sure on th size, but they fit tight and then used some small zip ties to make sure they stay on. I have used zip ties in the past with great sucess.
good luck
