Default VAG-COM VCDS anyone in NJ

My key Fob has stopped working. Apparently it can be set with VAG-COM and cable. Anyone can share. The Key Fob for some reason stops working every now and then . . .already been with dealer couple of times - works and eventually stops. This is for Audi TT 2006.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just picked up an 02 TT roadster 225HP and a Ross Tec Vagcom 2nd hand last weekend here in New Hope, PA. Got one key only and the fob doesn't work, and the vagcom won't communicate. Works perfect with our 14 A5 and the 01 TT the guy I got it from had...On the TT i'm getting "K1 short to ground" as to the connection problem. HELP me help you lol!

It's simple to program the key fob. To program a key to the immobilizer you need the 4 digit SKC code. I tried to use vag tacho to get it off my '04, but it didn't work. Apparently there are tools that will read the SKC through the obd port but they are very expensive. I ended up pulling the ECU and sending it out to have the SKC read.

You could also hook the ECU up to your computer/lap top out of the vehicle with a cable and use Argdubs tool to read the skc. Nefarious motorsports has all the info on how to do it but I never tried it.

Be careful who you send your ecu to the first place I sent mine to screwed up my ecu. In the end I had to have the immobilizer turned off on it to get rid of the codes and CEL issue. I sent it to Var Parts to have the SKC read plus I wanted them to clone the ecu so I could transfer the relevant info to a new/used ecu. I wanted one stock and one to send out for tuning. It came back with codes I never saw before and on the second key cycle it would illuminate the CEL. Stay away from VAR parts. Look for someone on ebay that has good feedback or speedo solutions seems to be legit. Nobody could fix what Var parts did and I ended up buying a new ecu and adapting it in VCDS with the SKC code they gave me.

You could also get an immo defeat instead of going through all the trouble but then you'd have to deal with a flashing immobilizer light on the dash.
