Default Valve cover leak affect boost?

I noticed my valve cover has a leak on the right hand side where apparently they are prone to leaks. By the half moon shape piece. Can this affect boost or just get oil everywhere? I'm asking because each time I do a leak test I remove the oil cap but this last test it wasn't removed and that's when I noticed the leak.

I'd like to replace it myself but after reading a few posts I have a feeling I'll break something else in the process. It's a 225. The previous owner did not maintain this vehicle. Hope you guys don't get tired of hearing from me. Thanks.

I'll just answer myself. Yes it does affect boost and probably why mine has gone to hell.

If you really believe that, I'd like to see you do a compression test!

Ok! I stand corrected. Crack in valve cover will not affect compression?
I would like to know then as well.

Not compression. Vacuum/Boost. Not the same thing obviously.
