You still have good flow from the surrounding vent space.

^This is true. The airflow cools my hand off nicely, after all of the white knuckle driving I do!

It's just more personal opinion but I like the whole gauge filling the vent over the "floating" vent. As cincy pointed out however you do lose complete functionality of the vent. To each their own. I also just find the AWEgauge and holders just way to over priced.

the AWE gauge is WAY too overpriced.

you can buy the modshack vent ring for $30 new and another $40 for a gauge.. thats CHEAP in comparison. the pricing excuse is no longer valid.

Excuse? Excuse for what? I was looking at buying the modshack (never even considered the AWE due to the crazy price) but then I came across this thread. I like the look of the gauge filling the entire vent even tho I lost the vent functionality, oh well. For those interested here is the thread.

Default Roush Performance 403840 Vent Gauge Pod

Hey guys I'm waay late to this conversation but I recently installed a boost gauge in my TT. Since AWE doesn't make them anymore, I got creative. So after hours of searching that was made for the car..... which no one does any more. I found a vent ring that was made for a Ford F-150 I believe. And it fit with some modification and creativity. The ring needs to be cut in half about and you need to use 2 parts from the original vent. But It looks clean and fits great. PM me for more information.
