What fluid do you run in your manual transmission?
Why would you want to run Automatic Transmission Fluid in your Manual Transmission Car?
It is ten times thinner and you will have gear grind coming out of your Ying Yang.
Personally, I will probably go with the Amsoil MTF or Redline Mt-90.

Not at all actually. I ran it in my bmw and it worked wonders for notchy shifting. But I guess the recommendation on here that I use gear oil? Mobile1 synthetic maybe?
Well on the bimmer even with mtf or gear oil i heard 40k miles. Since it's not the "lifetime" fluid it breaks down much more easily and therefore needs to be changed more often.
I just changed mine to mobile 1 gear oil and it made a big difference. The minor grind I would get maybe once every 400 shifts or so is gone. The gears all feel the same again (ie: 1st isn't hard, 4th isn't loose).
Changing it isn't hard once you have the tool. I needed a 1/2 inch hex wrench (not the 17mm the bentely manual says).

The time involved is about the time it takes to change engine oil, so I really don't see any issue with that. I've done projects on the car that took much longer than that.
