Default what the hell is that pump called?

theres an air pump with a filter attached to it, up in the pass front fender, behind the inner fender liner. It sounds like mice screwing, and thats not cool. Assuming its related to evap emmisions, but don't know what exactly it is. Any help?

Thanks

Matt

thought that was the pump that gets oil dripped all over it when you change the filter?

is my terminology all backward!?

the secondary air pump is in the front passenger side of the car with a hose going to the airbox. Not sure what your spilling oil on, I spill it on a cross support for my non existant skid plate and some other hose (one may be the hose to the engine from the air pump).

PS a4/passat larger filters take some effort to fit in there.

Not the same pump dude.

This isn't visible unless you remove your pass front tire, and the plastic inner fender. I guess you could alternately pop out the side marker light, and shine a flashlight in there, because they almost make contact.

So, any other suggestions? ; )

I tried poping out the marker and looking, can't see a pump directly but you can see some lines going to something...

Oh yea, that's the pump for your front-right self inflating tire system. You didn't know that?!
