Wow... all of you have very expensive taste. I would have never LOOKED for any of those cars... OR the TT. I just happened to be sitting at a dealership in the freezing cold waiting on a taxi. To keep them from kicking me out, I pretended to be interested in buying a car. to ensure they couldnt sell me one... I picked the nicest one in the lot. Then somehow they made it work. -shrugs-

I would have bought a jaguar xk8 but it was impossible to find one that was a coupe and in a good price range even with a sales manager at a jaguar dealership looking for one for me. He said that about 1 in 12 xk8s he saw were coupes unfortunately.

I had actually settled on the RX8 then my friend who owned the TT got orders for Korea and sold me the car for what he owed on his loan (17k) which at the time was slightly lower then the average price

I would have been happy with any of them. I couldn't find a nice GTI for a good price, same with the spyder. Overall, I'm really gald I got the tt though, because AWD rocked this winter (we had a 100 year reccord snow fall).

S2k - Opted not to get it cause everybody and their baby momma drives one.
BMW 330 - Maintenance too high.
Older Porsche 911 - Didn't want to buy a car & can't drive it right away. Cause if I were to pick this car up. I would be spending tons of $$ to upgrade the body style to a 996tt. And the time to do the conversion would take too long.
Driving down the street I saw a TT drive by. And thought hmm, don't see many of those around. Looked at some pics on line and was like nice bodystyle. Went to a dealer that had one I wanted to buy (but it was alrdy sold). Asked the dealer if I could see the inside of the car. He allowed me to and I liked the interior. My mind was made up that I was going to get a TT. Keep in mind II knew nothing of the car other than what it looked like. So I contacted my auto broker and told him find me a black/black TT, 6 speed manual with dual exhaust. He found it and did all the paperwork. Then he delivered the car to me. Never once did I look at the car in person or go to the dealer.

I was looking for a 2002 or earlier A4 or S4 turbo Models, cause a friend of mine has one and i liked it
or a 2000-2001 acura integra GS-R or type-R
or a 1998 or earlier Lexus SC 400 (300hp/310 torque)
Also looked at the Infinity G35 but I couldnt find a decent one in my price range
story goes I found a black A4 in Michigan and I drove up to check it out and they had a Black audi TT sitting beside it and i changed my mind on what car I wanted instantly I took it for a drive loved it, got a full warranty and snow tires too
at 62,000 miles and only $11,000.

350z- gettin too ricey
3 series - too whored out now
was going back the next day to the dealership to get a nice B6.. but that morning someone got it from me !

Volvo C30- Too practical
BMW 3 series- everyone and their mom has one!
Jaguar X-Type- not sporty enough
